Vase from the Kochubei Palace
17th-18th centuries. Kochubei Palace. Dykanka. An artistic vessel of teardrop shape on a low ring-shaped leg. The convex body of the vase narrows at the neck. Made using the cloisonné technique, in which a design made of metal partitions on an object is filled with a glass-like mass. The foot and bottom of the vase are decorated with geometric ornamentation. The neck is decorated with petal-shaped brown triangles with green circles inside. The blue background of the vase depicts plants (tall trees, grasses, bushes), multicoloured stones, animals (female and male deer), and birds (herons).
